Professor of Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering (Open Rank)

 

The Kevin T. Crofton Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at Virginia Tech seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position in naval architecture or ocean engineering at any rank effective August 2025. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching ocean vehicle design. We seek candidates who will build and sustain a scholarly research program on topics related to ocean vehicles, structures and systems, design tools, marine systems, high performance ocean vehicles, naval engineering, ocean exploration, offshore energy and other ocean technologies requiring similar expertise.

Crofton Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering (https://www.aoe.vt.edu/) includes 45 faculty members overseeing more than $12M in annual research expenditures, with approximately 260 full-time graduate students and 700 undergraduate students.   • $25.00 to $28.00 /hour

  • Second Shift (Monday through Friday from 01:30pm to 10:30pm)
  • Responsible for documentation processes including shift summary sheets, product wash sheets, recollection wash processes, quality processes and paperwork, cleaning processes and paperwork.
  • Enforce safety policies and processes for all personnel within the plant.
  • Ensure all PPE is being worn per company's standards and ensuring AIB standards are upheld.
  • Provide personnel training and enforcement of all operational functions within the facility

2nd Shift Supervisor Position Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a line supervisor
  • Previous leadership and supervisory position within high volume production operation
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 25+ employees strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Field Service Engineer (Phoenix) 1682

 As Field Service Representative you will provide on-site service including preventive maintenance, calibration, installation, and training across all product lines AZ and NM. Ideally, you will be located in the Phoenix area. The base salary range for this position is $30.00 - $33.80/hour and depends on technical and service experience within the analytical instrumentation field. The compensation includes bonus opportunities. The company offers full benefits, monthly car allowance/mileage, profit sharing bonuses; and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.Responsibilities include:

  • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of instruments at customer sites within the assigned region.
  • Managing inventory, trip planning, and administrative tasks related to service functions.
  • Availability for frequent overnight travel (up to 75%)
The ideal candidate possesses:
  • 2 years experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining complex analytical instruments.

You would be mentored by more senior attorneys at the firm and will have direct client contact and court experience from the start. Main office is in San Diego.
